Amanda. Texas. College Student.
I'm obsessed with making things. Knitting, Painting, Drawing, Sewing, Writing.
I’m about a week and a half into school to receive a teaching certification. And I must say, the difference between education majors and English majors is absolutely insane. I have never met more friendly and cheerful people than education majors in my life. Holy crap. Maybe we English majors start out that way but reading about the evils of society and realizing that all of our favorite writers committed suicide brings us down. And all we do throughout English classes is find out that the guy sitting behind us hates feminism or the girl in the back of the class is offended by sexual content, but that girl in row three mentioned Harry Potter once so she’s cool. I mean, there’s a lot more we do but I can almost guarantee that every English course I took had a person who hated feminism, a person who was offended by everything, and a person who relates a James Joyce novel to Harry Potter. Which is why, as much as I love friendly people, I do miss the crankiness and absurdity of English majors.
